SUPPORT FOR CHANGE

In a world that is constantly evolving, adaptation is a key factor for success.

However, as always, even minor changes are accompanied by a classic resistance that does not fail to slow the process. There are a few explanations for this:

  • Some personalities hate change;
  • Changes are not always understood, often because of insufficient explanations;
  • Change can prove to be deep and challenge professional positions;
  • And so on.

In light of this, we believe it is necessary to accept the idea that resistance to change is inevitable. In other words:

  • We cannot avoid resistance to change;
  • On the other hand, we can minimize the duration, intensity, etc.

Collective Intelligence dictates that if resistance to change is inevitable, then guidance through it should be too! In this sense, our interventions focus on two concerns:

  • That people can express their fears, frustration, anger, etc.; and
  • That people can take ownership for change in their professional environment by developing their own solutions in the new context.

We conduct this kind of intervention frequently in two different ways:

  • If the people impacted are sufficiently few, then we can work directly with each of them; this requires about two days of work.

If too many people are impacted for us to work directly with all of them, then we train relay-leaders, who we supervise, so that they can guide these people themselves.
