WHAT IS COLLECTIVE INTELLIGENCE?

“Collective Intelligence? It is the synergy of a company’s three key resources.”

The “pillars of a company in development” (image above) allow a company to adapt to different contexts, variations and developments.

For a company to prosper, these pillars must function in synergy. In other words, if one pillar evolves, it is important to assess the impact of this evolution on the other two pillars and move them forward accordingly.

From a global perspective, Collective Intelligence can be understood as the synergy of these three pillars.

Indeed, what is behind the Vision, Structure, and Skills? Men and women, who are the primary foundation of all companies! This brings us back to the paradox mentioned earlier:

  • A company must be a coherent whole focused on achieving its Vision;
  • A company is composed of elements that are heterogeneous by definition: you, us, them.

We can measure just how key the resolution of this paradox is for the growth – and therefore the longevity – of a company, regardless of the industry it operates in.

Developing and mastering the ins and outs of Collective Intelligence will ensure a sustainable and effective synergy between the vision, structure, and skills of individuals.

To that effect, a company must establish a human resources management that simultaneously supports:

  • Consistency in the movement and actions necessary to achieve its objectives and Vision;
  • Maintaining a greater degree of profile diversity, which is an essential condition for the wealth of the workforce; and
  • The creation and establishment of collective methods that make it possible to shift from this diversity toward complementarity, while at the same time overcoming obstacles that naturally occur in the face of Collective Intelligence (see “The Obstacles to Collective Intelligence” page).
