Persona is a method of personality identification

General summary

Persona is a personality identification method that combines 3 major teachings about behavior:

  • The Commedia dell’arte
  • NLP
  • Transactional analysis
  • Systemic approach

Created in 1999, Persona teaches us how to dive into the analysis of different archetypal personalities – 7 in total – and their ways of thinking to understand what makes each of them unique. Each archetype is studied in detail and people come to identify their personality, which is a unique combination of these archetypes.

Contribution

 

Persona facilitates:

  • Better self-knowledge, specific to fostering better control of emotions; an awareness of one’s strengths and weaknesses in order to develop and optimize relationships with others (self-management);
  • Better knowledge of others: one’s team, manager, and peers; and therefore, better relational skills to manage, influence, etc.;
  • Having good keys to personalize one’s approach: better understanding of the criteria for motivation, what “moves” people (clients, colleagues, etc.);
  • A decrease in the difficulties encountered with certain personality types (the “difficult personalities”); and,
  • A particularly precise understanding of personality types (Persona Marketing).
